IPMVP service
The service supports users in the definition of the Measurement and Verification Plan following the instructions provided in the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). It is divided into two parts, one to define the proper Measurement and Verification Plan, and the other one to calculate the energy savings resulting from the refurbishment works or the introduction of Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) in a building.
The service needs general data of the building, including energy systems data and weather data, to define a mathematical model of a building before refurbishment or implementation of ECM, and then it calculates the energy savings with data from the same building after the renovation phase.
In the first section, the user defines the building, including the ECM that are going to be introduced in it, along with data about the baseline period and the variables from the previous data that are going to be used for the calculation of the mathematical model of the building behaviour.
In the reporting section, the user selects both the building to be use for the energy savings calculation and the model they want to use.
The service supports users in the definition of the Measurement and Verification Plan following the instructions provided in the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
The user needs first to select between the definition of a New Plan of Measurement and Verification or the calculation of a New Report on the energy savings resulting from the refurbishment works or the introduction of ECM. Then, a building needs to be selected, either create a new building (and parametrise it) or select an existing building. When there are buildings defined in the service, the user may select the source of data thanks to the section Manage Data, to upload data files to the service (not shown) or Manage Plan, where some definitions and configurations need to be done. The user defines in a configuration window the ECM that is going to be deployed on the building.
In the Model section, a new configuration window appears in which the user selects the type of data aggregation desired, as well as the type of mathematical Model and the limits for the Heating Degree Days (HDD) and Cooling Degree Days (CDD). When calculate the model, the service performs several operations, in one of them, it calculates the correlation matrix, reduces it, calculates the model and makes predictions. It also shows some statistics about the model.
The user is now able to calculate the energy savings, they should go to the New Report option in the main window, and select the building, the plan and the model they want to use (the service allows to generate several plans for each building and several models for each plan). The user then fulfils a new form, where current data of the independent and dependent variables used in the mathematical model are input. When calculating the savings, the results are shown.
