AIRGo - I-NERGY - Open Dataset
This asset is the open dataset used for the experiment and for develop the proof of concept. It is an open dataset of RTE data for Energy grids.
This dataset corresponds to the "case 1888" of RTE. This case accurately represents the size and complexity of French very high voltage and high voltage transmission network.
The grid data is provided by a MATPOWER file. The data origin is the paper C. Josz, S. Fliscounakis, J. Maenght, P. Panciatici, AC power flow data in MATPOWER and QCQP format: iTesla, RTE snapshots, and PEGASE, 2016. This grid contains 290 producer nodes and 1000 load nodes.
Chronics over a month are provided with a time step of 5 minutes. These chronics have been generated with the Python script chronics_creator.py from the pypowsybl-grid2opbackend open-source GitHub project: https://github.com/powsybl/pypowsybl-grid2opbackend.
This dataset is used to demonstrate the efficiency of th PowSybl Backend over a realistic French very high voltage and high voltage transmission network.
This dataset is part of a project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101016508.
The dataset provided contains:
- chronics/<date_first_day_in_week>/:
- load_p.csv.bz2: the active power chronics for the loads of the grid
- load_q.csv.bz2: the reactive power chronics for the loads of the grid
- prod_p.csv.bz2: the active power chronics for the generators of the grid
- Thermal_limits.json: the current limits of the lines and the transformers of the grid
- start_datetime.info: first day of the chronics
- time_interval.info: the time interval in minutes
- config.py: a Python script used for the configuration while using the dataset
- grid.mat: the MATPOWER file describing the case 1888 of RTE
- prods_charac.csv: the characteristics of the generators of the grid
Thermal limits have been generated such as:
- 10% of the lines at 99 percentile of voltages (voltages taken at origin) observed when running chronics without overload limit;
- and the rest of the lines at 1.5 * max of observed voltages taken at origin.
