AI Fairness Cluster Conference & AIMMES Workshop 2025

Building on the success of last year’s AI Fairness Cluster Conference and AIMMES Workshop, the AI Fairness Cluster invites you to the 2nd conference and workshop on addressing the complex challenges of AI bias and fairness. As AI systems become more embedded in everyday applications involving decision-making with potential high societal impact, understanding and mitigating AI biases is essential to ensure that these technologies operate in an equitable, transparent, and accountable manner.

This event brings together leading experts from the EU-funded projects AEQUITAS, BIAS, FINDHR, and MAMMOth to explore the latest research, methodologies, and tools designed to tackle bias in AI systems. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in critical discussions, learn from cutting-edge findings, and collaborate on solutions that bridge the gap between technical, societal, ethical, and regulatory perspectives.

Key Topics and Perspectives:

  • The conference draws from the research of the AI Fairness Cluster partners, adopting an interdisciplinary perspective with legal, social, and technological elements.
  • With new regulatory frameworks emerging, notably the AI Act, and with the increasing attention to ethics and accountability of AI systems, we seek to ensure that principles of fairness, equity, and justice guide AI development in Europe.
  • Some key technical challenges we address include measuring, mitigating, and explaining unwanted biases.
  • Key application domains in which we demonstrate new methodologies and tools for responsible AI include recruitment, healthcare, education, and finance.

Why Attend?
