Top education and research are at the heart of the oldest and largest technical university in the Netherlands. Our 8 faculties offer 16 bachelor's and more than 30 master's programmes. Our more than 25,000 students and 6,000 employees share a fascination for science, design and technology. Our common mission: impact for a better society.

This mission is reflected in Delft's strong focus on Responsible Innovation, which is needed to address the grand challenges of the 21st century. These challenges require pro-actively addressing relevant moral and social values already in the design phase of new technologies, products, services, spaces, systems, and institutions. The Delft Design for Values (DDfV) Institute works on knowledge, methods and practices to do so.

As of April 2022, Delft has officially established a Delft Digital Ethics Center (DDEC) in addition to the DDfV Institute. Given the increasing presence of the digital in everyday life, the DDEC was established to ensure that digital technologies, particularly AI systems, receive the critical attention they require.
