Vodena focuses on R&D activities with its primary interest in software development in the field of physical and data-driven modeling, as well as simulation and optimization of both social and natural phenomena. We have developed a number of software solutions including general data management, hydrological modeling and simulations, power production optimization and data visualization, operational in the field of hydro-power industry.

The company was founded by Boban Stojanovic, PhD, the university professor with 20 years of experience in data analysis, optimization, and software development for academic and commercial use. Vodena focuses on R&D activities with its primary interest in software development in the field of physical and data-driven modeling, as well as simulation and optimization of both social and natural phenomena. We have developed a number of software solutions including general data management, hydrological modeling and simulations, power production optimization and data visualization, operational in the field of hydro-power industry.

Our beginnings in the field of Artificial Intelligence are related to the development of DEVONNA, a dam health assessment tool based on evolving neural networks. DEVONNA was a finalist of the “VERBUND Innovation Challenge 2017” (in “Neural networks in power plants” category), organized by one of the largest European hydropower companies. As an innovative and prospective solution, DEVONNA received a Seal of Excellence from European Commission.

Our flagship product, Blackfox, is a "set and forget" solution for automated and continuous creation, monitoring and self-improvement of data-driven predictive models.
