Idiap Research Institute is an independent, nonprofit research foundation based in Martigny, Switzerland. Idiap's activities encompass fundamental research, training, and technology transfer activities in the field of artificial intelligence, both theoretical and applied. Idiap is affiliated with the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

Idiap's research expertise spans machine learning, voice and visual recognition, human-machine interaction, social computing, robotics, language analysis, bio-imaging, and genomics. Idiap's activities are conducted by fourteen research groups.
