Towards functional safety management for AI-based critical systems
Attendees will obtain an initial contextualization of concepts such as Functional Safety Management and the introduction of AI lifecycles alongside traditional functional safety system lifecycles. They will also learn about the challenges faced by traditional lifecycles when incorporating AI into safety-related systems.
As part of the second pillar, attendees will get to know SAFEXPLAIN’s tailored contribution outlining how we facilitate the adoption of AI in safety-critical systems by addressing the necessary adaptations to the safety development process.
Developing safety-critical systems follows a well-known V-model, moving from safety goals to safety requirements, system, software and hardware design to obtain a system that is intended to be safe by construction. A Functional Safety Management (FSM) methodology defines a systematic approach for developing safety-critical systems.
Using AI to perform functionalities that implement safety requirements creates new needs for traditional FSM. This is especially true given that the AI-based systems’ development crashes frontally with traditional safety development processes.
The goal of this webinar is to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AI into safety-critical systems, while also offering practical insights and strategies for ensuring the continued safety and reliability of such systems.
