CLARA
CLARA advances neurodegeneration research by combining AI and quantum computing to process large-scale brain data, creating a European Centre of Excellence that fosters collaboration and innovation for better brain health.
AI and quantum computing push the frontiers of neurodegeneration research
Neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, are now a major cause of ill health and disability. Understanding the principles that promote the health and vitality of the brain system is essential to advancing neurodegeneration research. The EU-funded CLARA project leverages the power of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge quantum computing technologies to build a centre of excellence and advanced infrastructure based on the emerging resources of the 'European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking.’ The aim is to enable the processing of large-scale biological and clinical data, strengthening the European computing and data ecosystem for brain research. CLARA brings together experts from different disciplines and fosters an open environment that combines scientific knowledge and technological innovation with public access for the benefit of individuals and society.
